The Top Three Reasons You Aren't Seeing The Results You Want!

💪🏻1. You're not lifting weights. Lifting HEAVY weights is imperative to fire up your metabolism. Worried about bulking up like men do? Don't fret! Women naturally do not produce enough testosterone to bulk up like a man. Lifting heavy will give you muscle tone. The more muscle tone you have, the more fat your body will burn!⁣ Lifting will help you build that lean, calorie burning muscle that will help you lean out and tone up! Not used to lifting weights? 🍽2. You not eating enough/eating the wrong types of food! Yes, you heard that! We have been programmed to eat less and workout more if we want to see success. While that may provide results initially, you can't safely sustain a constant calorie deficit while lifting heavy. Each body has a threshold at which it will feels that the caloric intake is too low, and it will begin to hang onto body fat for fear of starvation. Do your best to eat whole foods. A good rule of thumb is if it comes from the ground or has a mother it is a great choice!⁣ It is also important that you are not skipping whole groups of foods … i.e. carbs. There is so much fear out there about eating carbs. Healthy carbs like rice, vegetables, potatoes, fruit, etc. are so important for your hormone health and thyroid function. Any diet that eliminates whole groups of foods will not be sustainable long-term, and will likely cause you future problems.

⁣REASON # 3:
😴3. You are not taking time to recover. Recovery and rest are often more important than the workout itself! Yes, I did just say that! 😉 It’s during periods of rest that your body does most of the actual fat burning. So give yourself that time to fully recover so you’re ready to work hard the following day. Most importantly, listen to your body. ⁣ Part of rest and recovery also includes getting enough sleep! Did you know that sleep is critical to becoming a pro fat burner? That’s why in the FASTer Way To Fat Loss we focus on sleep quantity AND quality. Here are some of the negative effects sleep deprivation has on your body:

  • Increased cortisol levels

    • Cortisol is your body’s stress hormone. When your cortisol levels are high, your body stores fat. Not getting enough sleep can raise cortisol levels in the body and make it more difficult to burn fat. Keep those cortisol levels low and get some sleep!

  • Imbalance of hunger hormones

    • Not sleeping enough affects your hunger hormones (ghrelin and leptin). Ghrelin signals to your brain when it’s time to eat and leptin lets your body know that you’ve eaten enough.

  • Decreased sensitivity to insulin

    • After just a few days of insufficient sleep, your body will struggle to process insulin (the hormone responsible for changing sugar and starches into energy). When your insulin sensitivity is decreased, you are going to store fat.

⁣Your body is constantly working hard to keep you safe and healthy. If you fuel it appropriately with enough of the right foods, at the right time, challenge it with heavier weights, and give it time to rest and recover you WILL see the results you are looking for!
