You know that you should be drinking more water, but you just don’t love the taste of water, or you are TIRED of drinking the same plain water, am I right? For most people this is a chore they don't enjoy...⁣ but what if we looked at water consumption as a way of practicing self-care instead of a chore? 🤔⁣

We all know it’s important to drink enough water every day, but not everyone knows why it is so important!⁣
⁣Here are the top 5 reasons why drinking water is so important to your health!⁣

💥Water gives muscles the hydration needed to optimally perform during exercise and physical activity.⁣
💥Water jump starts your metabolism! Consuming water can help push you through a workout and keep your body burning calories (even when you are at rest!).⁣
💥Water provides a mental boost! Without enough water, we can struggle to focus throughout the day.⁣
💥Water strengthens your immune system! Staying fully hydrated keeps all the major organs, particularly your liver and kidneys, functioning optimally.⁣
💥Water aids in your digestion! Water can help your body process foods better and keep the lining of your digestive system intact.⁣

So, now that you know why it is important to drink water, let’s talk about some fun ways to consume all of the water that you should be!

  • Try some infused waters! Infused water is simply water that you flavor at home with fruits and/or herbs. First start by choosing some of your favorite flavor combinations. Need ideas? Next, wash your fruit and add it to a container with some fresh, filtered water and let it sit overnight in the refrigerator. I love to make up several combinations in different containers so that I can enjoy different flavors throughout the day!

  • Make your own hydration popsicles! These are fresh, healthy popsicles that will not only quench your thirst, but are TASTY too! Check out this Pinterest board for my favorite recipes!

  • Make some fruit/herb infused ice cubes! You can make these with the regular ice cube trays, or for a big, fun impact, try some of the large silicone ice cubes trays for some beautiful cubes! This is a great way to add some fun, flair, and flavor to your regular water, or to your favorite sparkling water. Check some yummy ideas here!
